Polished, simple, sweet. I made this sterling silver pendant from scratch using traditional metalsmithing techniques. It is a round Möbius band, embellished by a single tube-set 3mm faceted round natural gemstone. A Möbius band is a mathematical construct – a one-sided continuous surface – a lovely representation of eternity.
The birthstones I use to make these pendants are genuine gemstones:
January – Garnet, grade A, not treated
February – Amethyst, grade A, heat-treated
March – Aquamarine, grade A, heat-treated
April – White Topaz, grade AAA, not treated
May – Emerald, grade A, oiled
June – Alexandrite, grade A, not treated
July – Ruby, grade A, heat-treated
August – Peridot, grade A, not treated
September – Blue Sapphire, grade A, heat-treated
October – Pink Tourmaline, grade A, heat-treated
November – Citrine, grade AA, heat-treated
December – London Blue Topaz, grade A, irradiated and heat-treated
This Möbius pendant measures just over 1/2 inch (about 13.5mm) in diameter. I have brought the sterling silver to a high polish to accentuate the curve in the metal. This pendant comes with an 18″ (40cm) sterling silver chain.
